Would you like to help with the Running Stitch artwork?
BildMuseet will present Running Stitch, an artwork by Hamilton, Southern and St Amand in the Open Source Embroidery exhibition 6.6. – 6.9. 2009.
Running Stitch is an invitation to people in Umea to create a hand-sewn map of their walks. Starting at BildMuseet, participants will be invited to take a GPS mobile phone on an hour walk exploring the locality, their walk will be projected live onto a giant embroidery canvas in the exhibition.
We are looking for volunteers to learn how to use the GPS equipment and how to stitch the canvas. You will show other people how to take part in the project throughout the summer. To be a host, you will need to be available between June 4th and 9th for training, and for at least 2 Sundays throughout June, July and August.
