Rhei – time flows
October 6 2015
Rhei is an electro-mechanical clock with a liquid display in which the hours are displayed using ferrofluid—a liquid that becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. Little information about Rhei is available so far, but the operation of the lettering can be understood relatively simply: ferrofluid was given it’s name because it fuses the characteristics of ferromagnetic elements (magnet) and fluid substances (water or organic solvent).
