As a colaborative effort for the Summer Olympic Games (and hosted by none other than our dear friends over at the Golden Arches) it is an online adventure that brings people from around the world together– literally. This month, on April 20th in San Francisco anyone who cares to partake will have the opportunity to play “a lost olympic sport” at a park in Sutro Heights.
What’s more, reading about the game I stumbled upon Jane McGonigal, (search blogger for several of her blogs as well) an alternate reality game designer she specializes in projects which connect game worlds with the real world– an important principle to keep in mind in our field.
