Core Tools for Augmented Reality (Microsoft Research)

I’ve failed to see to whole point of AR. Yes, it’s cool. Yes, you can have realtime reviews of a restaurant popup automatically on screen and the oh-so-cool traesure hunts for kids. But the difference between the amount of time spend developing it and actually getting something useful out of it, is not even close. I predict that we are going to have it properly implemented to our lives in a few years time, but it’s gonna be just another toy, not a serious interface application.
