Some Universal Everything´ness going on in the orient and it folds out flawlessly and rythmically with finesse. It would be very interesting to translate some of this methods into the field of interaction. For a wider peak these are Makoto Yabuki´s vimeo collection.
Get inspired.

I’m telling you, money is the thing this year.

Some nice photographs on Seed magazine‘s portfolio. The different patterns that the birds create while flying are really impressive and beautiful.

Every year, the interaction design community gathers to stretch our minds, sharpen our skills and inspire each other. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss this incredible opportunity!
Philips designs all sorts of wild things, from food concepts for 2030 to stoves for the poor to “emotion shirts” for gamers. And yet this may be the most left-field design we’ve seen from the company: A series of sex toys, designed for couples use. In addition to buzzing–or “purring,” as Philips describes it–one of the toys also heats up. Their intricate contours are meant to suit both male and female erogenous zones.
More about meaningful sensors that give real pleasure -Â here.
[Now, can someone PLEASE PLEASE do a (degree) project on sexual experience design please?? Philips is doing it… Its bound to be the most fun project ever!]
As the title implies, the people at Stamen Design have created some nice interactive visualizations for the state of California. See ’em here.
It’s part of President Obama’s Recovery Act plan.
camille can we have one of those?
Nice reference if you feel like get lost in theory or just do some research.

From the My6thSense website –
‘my6sense’s super duper AI (artificial intelligence) technology learns what is most important to you based on your consumption habits, serving you as a digital sense, or as we call it ‘Digital Intuition’. There is nothing you need to do other than simply use the service like you would any other reader/aggregator. No preferences need to be set. No surveys to fill out. No blood samples needed. The m6s service ‘senses’ your interactions with every message; whether you click on it, ignore it or share it. Just use the service naturally, and the Digital Intuition magic will come your way – connecting you with your most important content on your iPhone and desktop.’
Its really interesting to see how the attempt to attain a hypernetworked 7th sense of the World around us is being rapidly attained.
And, yes its an iPhone app. :)
Finally online.

“– FOOD takes a provocative and unconventional look at areas that could have a profound effect on the way we eat and source our food 15-20 years from now.
These investigations, like other probe projects, examine the possible consequences of various (long-range) social trends and ‘weak signals’ emerging from the margins of society. In the case of food, this involved tracking and interpreting issues like the shift in emphasis from curative to preventative medicine, the growth in popularity of organic produce, implications of genetic modification, land use patterns in growing what we eat, the threat of serious shortages, and rising food prices. The result was an extension to Philips Design’s ongoing design probes program with three new projects; Diagnostic Kitchen, Food Creation and Home Farming.”
Hey guys,
Welcome back!!
I just found this event and it seems to be interesting. So I just want to share it =)
