On the occasion of the Free Culture Forum in Barcelona, La Quadrature du Net releases three films to inform citizens and urge them to take action against ACTA, the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.
ACTA is a threat to Internet users’ fundamental freedoms and to EU Internet companies’ competitiveness and free competition. The European Parliament will soon decide whether to give its consent to ACTA, or to reject it once and for all.
Every citizen can help defeat ACTA by spreading this video across the Internet, urging their fellow citizens to mobilize, and contacting their elected representatives.
Last week, IxD2 students were introduced to Kinect and the Kinect SDK package from Microsoft during the Experience Prototyping course. Kinect opens the door to new ways to work with the sensor, beyond gaming and the Xbox environment. The sensor is truly an amazing piece of technology, at a super affordable price. It opens a lot of new ways for us humans to interact with the digital world. Many hackers and enthusiasts have been very quick to make use of Kinect in novel ways. As full PC support and libraries are made available for the global community, I’m sure we’ll see tons of clever use for it. Here is a recent video released by Microsoft, and I believe this is just the beginning.
Check the Kinect Effect page for additional Kinect stories, and a few more videos, taken from Microsoft Research 20 years anniversary site

I don’t understand any japanese, but this motorbike/toilet is definitely something! It seems to be a conceptual model made for TOTO’s Green Challenge, and it runs on biogas. TOTO is a toilet manufacturer in Japan and they want to raise awareness on environmental issues. If I understand right, the Toilet Bike will tour 1000km in Japan. Wonderful :-)
