Gurgles and coos are notoriously difficult to interpret—making it difficult for babies to tell us what they like. So we’ve created an exact, adult-sized replica of one of our best selling strollers to show parents just how comfortable Contours strollers are for their babies.

New research uses a mobile phone’s ability to sense how you are gripping the device, as well as when and where the fingers are approaching it, to adapt interfaces on the fly. The research is outlined in the paper, “Pre-Touch Sensing for Mobile Interaction.”

“The lighting sculpture is named “Emergenceâ€, and with playful relevance to Caviar House, captures the re-imagined movement of a school of fish moving underwater. It is a sculptural expression of the fascinating light patterns and shimmers that emerge across the collective bodies of fish as they move in harmony within water whilst reflecting the natural sun light. This is physically manifested as a kinetic moment frozen in space and time, and re-animated through cutting-edge interactive digital lighting. These lighting patterns are controlled in real-time from a live physics simulation modelled on the complex movements of a school of fish within the ocean.”
“We are Team Blue Jay. We believe technology is here to serve us. To help us. To make our lives better. Blue Jay operates since September 2015 as a team of 18 top students from different faculties across the Eindhoven University of Technology. Our multi-disciplinary team is highly motivated to show the potential of drones in home environments, in which they can really make a difference. We are certain that our combined expertise will lead us to an entirely new application of drones. Working in collaboration with the scientific staff at the TU/e, together we will push technological development boundaries. Eindhoven is a region known for its high knowledge density and strong innovative power meaning all resources are within reach. Team Blue Jay will connect the dots of the qualities in Eindhoven to create a smart drone that will amaze the world.”

The basic idea of my bachelor thesis was to track the ping pong ball in realtime to create data visualisations for trainers and players. After a few weeks of working I started developing a projected mapped interface for the ping pong table to show the collected data. By projecting game obstacles on the surface I figured out that I can change the game play totally.

Tobias Gremmler portrays the Chinese material art in a different light by using  3D motion capture data to create abstract moving art. The sound track is really effective as well. Tried to find more info on what was used to capture and render this, but to no avail. Please share if you have a clue.
For 25 years, the Blue Man Group has blurred the thin blue lines between music, theater, performance, visual art and invention. As a percussion-based spectacle, part of their appeal has always been primal banging on knotty tangles of PVC tubes, the furious whipping of airpoles and the thunderous pounds on a big drum they lovingly call “the Big Drum.†Their mostly instrumental third album, Three, just released on Rhino Records, is a feast of such sonic ingenuity, a showcase of home-brewed instruments like the snorkelbone and the chimeulum honking and sparkling over rhythms redolent of contemporary EDM.

For Milan Design Week 2016, ten progressive contemporary designers join Nike to explore movement through various mediums, inspired by the on-going pursuit of natural motion and marking but a moment in the conversation, in the endless exploration and endless learning of the non-perfect, non-linear creative process. Our collaborators push us, and us, them, in hopes of creating a springboard for the future and the generations that will continue the conversation. There is no finish line.
