We’ll need some volunteers to organize the afterparty/afterhours thingy. So far, Joachim (IxD1) has manifested interest but he’ll need some help.

We’ll also need people to distribute flyers next week. So far Jordi (IxD1) and Vitorio (IxD2) have manifested interest.

We’ll as well need some people to do internal promotion, ideally to go and tell groups (for example, before lectures start) about the event and invite them. Perhaps swedish speaking folks would be ideal.

Basically, we need to do everything ourselves, so if you are interested in helping (we need help in all departments), just write something here on the blog and keep the discussion goin’.

As Péa said, we need help for a lot of stuff:

-Background image/animations for screen(s), before/after the event, and between the presentations [Mikko and/or others?]
-Prepare leaflets/handouts with the program
-People to welcome the guests in the morning
-Help with video/audio recording of the presentations. Also we need someone to take pictures [Joachim, someone else?]
-Technical support for the stage/public microphone during the Q-A’s

I’ll be very happy to help out in any way by means of design, speaking, welcoming, hosting etc.

Meaning – I’m available to help! I think it would be best if we made some lists or teams asap, to get started.
The right people on the right tasks would make the event a smash hit and also a pleasurable one for all our honored guests and students!

I’ve spread the word to Malmö. Have some friends there. Maybe they’ll come by…

I can work the program leaflets/ handouts too.

Perhaps, quite simply, if everyone could distribute the flyer by email to people that they know and that would be susceptible of coming, it’d be great.

@ Vitorio: I’m waiting for Matt to send me additional info for the leaflets. Will communicate that to you as soon as I have some.

I’m willing to help too.

Maybe we should showcase some of our work. That weekend is Umeå Open too – maybe some people are coming here for that (really, could it be?), so maybe that could be used as a way to get people interested in coming here. Maybe?

March 15 2009

As I´ve indicated to Pea, I would be interested in contributing to the afterparty, quite possibly together with Peter from TD2. It would be a great warmup for those interested in the Umeå Open. W

As for the photography part, I would of course like to help, but I would hope someone would assist me; it is a rather long event and it would be nice to sit and listen without “interfering”. I may borrow the d200 to whom is interested.

I can help out Joachim with photos to give him a breather and time to relax

Cool for the photos.

Perhaps more importantly though, who would like to volunteer for taking turns in filming? Camille want to film some, but then again, he’s a speaker in the conference, so I think he’ll have plenty of other things to focus on than filming…

So if Rahul, Vitorio, Roberto, Joachim, George, (and others, I could probably do a bit) could take turns at filming, it would be great and a lesser task for each. I was talking to Matt and he would like to have 2 cameras filming at all times (he would supply his with his mic and other stuff), one one the screen and the other closely capturing the speakers.
__

Also, as Camille pointed out, we’ll need tech support for the Q&A sessions (mic holders/transporters), and also people for the welcoming.

For the afterparty, I talked to Peter and he’s up for it, which is cool. Now we only need to be in sync with the Ställverket people and everythin’ should be dandy.
__

Anyways, I guess the best thing is to do an actual list on the whiteboard in our studio listing tasks and having people put their names beside them (?).
