Squared

Problem: Every year billions of dollars are lost by consumers on overdraft fees and late fees. Different invoices are due on different days, lost in the mail, requires memory of user-name and passwords -the reasons to these costs are endless.

Solution: Squared is intended to change that. This is tangible artefact that uses play and ubiquitous computing to improve the future banking experience, in particular, the bill pay system. It is designed to simplify routine payments and provide accurate depictions of real-time account balances, The objective is to make routine payments and transfers more easy and fun to complete.

The Works: Consumers receive a package from their bank that is dependent of their routine bills. The package consists of a main payment device terminal and connecting “squares” representing each bill. These Squares turn red when a payment is due and blue to show that transactions are pending. Connect the squares to the terminal to pay the bill, squares that remain connected automatically becomes auto-payments.
