This is a box that has a camera inside. The camera is connected to a computer. When a ticket is inserted in to the box, it hits a button that triggers the camera, that will take a photo of the code tag. The computer then decodes this tag and recognizes the individual number assigned to the ticket.
The small circuit board is an iPac, a small keyboard with no buttons, but input ports. The iPac is used with a micro switch, which triggers the camera. Basically it’s the same as pushing the ‘any’ key on a keyboard.
What does it do then? Decoding the code will create a ‘user profile’ on the computer, so that each ticket will have it’s own profile. Whenever the ticket is inserted in to the slot, a second camera will take a snapshot of the human using it and show it to him/her on a screen together with the previous snapshots he/she has taken.
Download the Processing source code. You need two cameras to get this working. Get your QR codes from Kaywa. We just numbered our stuff from 1-250 to get them working. The code also includes parameters to display special messages to selected tickets. Have fun!
