HTML5 for mobile devices and tablets

September 2 2010

Don’t have Mac? No iPhone? Want to do something more universal? ObjectiveC too hard for you?

Sencha Touch is a framework  for the iPhone/iPad/iTouch and Android devices using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3  that have the look and feel of native application, which of course can be modified, since it’s just CSS.  There’s a lot of examples to get you started. These all work in at least Chrome (probably Safari), so you can test them without owning an iPad et al. Most of the implemented HTML5 features work, Geolocation (GPS etc.), Offline-mode, video, audio, forms etc.. + plus you can use gestures for navigation.

This might be a good way to start making mobile apps.

Also it’s open-source.

Get it from here!
