Ever wondered what the (social media) world is listening to right now?
streamWatcher started out as a research project scrobbling posts of people concerning the music they listen to. Turns out they can predict what the charts will show in a few weeks time. Just a tiny example of the uses of BigData analysis. But also its own downfall?!
How can we avoid or counter echo-chamber effects. How does this site affect what people listen to? What do the pattern-recognition algorithms do to how we see the world? Who writes them?
